Created and executed strategic internal and external communication plans. Handled crisis communications, coordinated media and the social media plan and content. Creatively sourced content and story ideas to pitch to media and encourage story coverage of exhibitions, special events, fundraisers, etc. Tracked impact measurement of media coverage and social media engagement. Wrote and managed the production of our newsletter targeted to more than 26,000 COSI members and the Annual Report. Wrote and edited talking points and speeches and handled media training.

Corrections Training Academy

My role at the Corrections Training Academy was to assist the Superintendent with the day-to-day operations of the Academy including organizing and distributing sensitive documents, serving as a liaison between the Superintendent and subordinates, and completing special assignments as directed by the Superintendent. I also supervised the front office secretaries, managed scheduling for Academy facilities and practice ranges, and served as the internal audit manager for the Academy.

In my role as Communications Specialist for the Ohio Arts Council, I managed information requests and responses as appropriate, wrote press releases for the OAC and distributed to media, wrote and revised content to update the OAC web site and Facebook page, and managed the OAC's festival directory production and distribution featuring more than 360 festivals. I also worked with designers and printers on all agency publication printing as well as coordinated distribution, managed the Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Ohio nomination process including maintaining all correspondence, served as a producer for the Governor's Awards winners' video vignettes, and assisted in planning for the Governor’s Awards, a more than 800 guest luncheon held annually. I collected information and story ideas to write and distribute ArtsOhio, OAC's monthly newsletter. I served as a dual communications/marketing representative for the OAC and the Riffe Gallery, managing all ad buys and placement for the Riffe Gallery, and coordinating design and printing of materials for distribution and marketing of four exhibitions per year for the Riffe Gallery.

I served as a direct communication liaison for the Auditor of State to all statewide and national media outlets; including newspaper, radio, and television and coordinated media interviews. I generated new story ideas and pitched to all of the major media outlets. I created briefings to prepare the Auditor of State for interviews with media outlets, created press releases simplifying complicated audit language for straightforward media interpretation, and created columns and content for various publications produced by the Public Affairs division.

I held several positions at the Ohio News Network in various time slots and projects. I was responsible for structuring, writing, and researching topics and stories for scheduled, daily on-air newscasts, organized on-air segments for ONN’s initial Cleveland based cable launch, researched, created, and gathered news, interviews and topics for week-long nightly specials showcasing the City of Cleveland, wrote and produced “Healthy Ohioans”, a weekly segment surrounding personal well-being in coordination with the State of Ohio’s sponsored program, and wrote and produced “Ohio’s Talking”, a nightly call in show featuring political and prominent personalities, discussing topics relevant and appealing to Ohioans. I also composed news articles and stories for the ONN web site.
