I worked to complete three main projects for the Cylinder Works factory in Moline, IL throughout the summer. These three projects consisted of fixed asset auditing, SOX internal control auditing, and working with costing and normal volumes. Along with these three projects I also worked on other small projects to fill my time. I worked across many functional groups at Cylinder Works as well as working with other John Deere locations to complete these projects. I also joined the social networking intern committee for the New and Experienced Organizational Network where I was able to work with a group of other interns to plan social events throughout the summer.

Waterloo, Ia

Learned how to use various different kinds of software, learned many tax accounting concepts, and used this knowledge to complete individual customer tax returns. Worked as part of a team with the other interns and full-time employees to get the returns completed by the tax deadline.

Cedar Falls, Ia

Tracked capital expenditures, completed Ad Hoc analysis, ran and analyzed cost reports for tractor parts, audited expenses in purchase orders to verify accuracy.

Lawler

Completed transactions with customers, generated interest payments and documents for the IRA department in Excel, prepared materials for the loan and trust departments

Conducted routine chores with farm animals, operated tractors and equipment for field operations, picked rocks and sticks from fields and waterways, transferred corn and beans from bins to wagons to take to local co-ops.
