Jaclyn Douma is the author of Our First Year: Cost Effective Recipes for the Home of Newlyweds, a cookbook containing a collection of her own recipes specifically designed with couples in mind. She is also Head Editor and Owner for Sugar Loco which is a website fully dedicated to everything sweet. Douma seeks out sweets & drinks across the country, as well as manages several contributing writers for the company. In 2011, Douma’s portfolio grew with the win of a contest hosted by Paula Deen and the Real Women of Philadelphia. Jaclyn’s “One Maple Bar, Please!” original recipe submitted to the Make to Impress Dessert category has a full page feature in the Season 2 Real Women of Philadelphia cookbook. Our First Year was also featured in Real Weddings Magazine and Douma was a contributing author to North Valley Magazine – Flavor section circulating the Phoenix, Scottsdale, Arrowhead, Cave Creek and other surrounding North Valley Arizona areas. 2012 has brought many new opportunities to Jaclyn and her cookbook as she was recently featured on Pen & Fork’s website and followed up with Desert Living Today in an article titled: “Chow Down: This Week in Food Blogs.” Also continuing her live television experiences, Jaclyn was featured on Good Morning Arizona, ABC 15- Sonoran Living Live, & Today-Channel 12 News.
