About Jaclyn O'Keefe

Jaclyn O'Keefe is a Events and Communication Coordinator at University of Massachusetts Amherst. She possess expertise in event planning, public speaking, creativity skills, organization skills, social media and 10 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I have been fortunate enough to supervise Jackie for the last two years. She has been an asset to my department and is always willing to go above and beyond in her job responsibilities. When I think of Jackie, I think of someone who is selfless and willing to take on more responsibilities for the betterment of the office. When our office & division were short-staffed, she helped maintain our events calendar and room reservations for a full semester without question. She is well organized and has demonstrated her ability to program large scale events with little to no supervision from myself. At Becker College this past year, Jackie oversaw our first ever (and hopefully to become annual) Fresh Check Day. Jackie coordinated logistics, gathered student and staff volunteers and collaborated with other student affairs and academic affairs offices to make this one of our most successful events. She thoroughly planned out the event from A-Z and was able to adapt to changes that occurred. Over the past two years, I have seen Jackie grow into her professional role and know I will greatly miss working with her as she moves into her first professional role!", "It has been a pleasure to work with and get to known Jaclyn O'Keefe. When I first met Jackie she was a shy introverted individual that has blossomed into a confident, well spoken professional. This year I worked with her both on the National Association for Campus Activities (NACA) Northeast Regional Conference and she hired the company that I work for to work at Becker for events. Regardless of the situation Jackie is hard working and very well prepared. She is a person that has no problem rolling up her sleeves and diving right in. However, in her role as an advisor she is able to delegate tasks to her students to further their growth and development. Jackie is extremely poised and is not rattled easily by change or a monkey wrench being tossed into well laid plans. As situations change she has the ability to pivot and change with them. One of the things about Jackie that deserves mentioning is she is very empathetic. It is unclear whether this is simply her personality, her experience with the pageants she participates in, or the fact that she is an introvert who at times finds herself in situations that she is not overly comfortable with. Regardless of the cause Jackie is always aware of the people that she is working with and tries to make sure that they are comfortable and at ease. As society changes and people seem to be more self centered this is a valuable asset that will serve her well in the next phases of her life and professional development. All in all Jackie is a pleasure to work with.", and "Jackie and I worked together as part of the National Association for Campus Activities Program Committee. Jackie joined the Education and Professional Development team which oversaw all conference initiatives involved under the educational umbrella. Jackie enthusiastically joined the team, offered great insight, and was able to build professional relationships quickly. Jackie is organized, intentional, and has great problem solving skills. Her work as part of the conference committee was greatly valued!"

Listed skills include Event Planning, Public Speaking, Creativity Skills, Organization Skills, and 11 others.
