•Serve as primary TDEC point of contact for external stakeholders for environmental concerns in the Middle Tennessee region, covering thirteen (13) counties. •The Office of External Affairs team provides stratergy and engagement for public participation matters and external communications including TDEC’s annual report, select newsletters, and Imagine a Day Without campaign. •Work directly with local, state, and federal officials, business and industry, general public, community development representatives, and environmental groups to educate stakeholders and advocate on behalf of TDEC. Serve as an ombudsman for out-of-compliance issues, citizen complaints and identify opportunities for positive community partnerships. •Collaborate with TDEC’s Office of Communication and division leadership to craft public responses regarding complex environmental issues spanning across all divisions-air, water, energy, policy, sustainable practices, solid waste, radiological health, mining, underground storage tanks, state parks, and remediation. •Key representative for TDEC in Middle Tennessee coordinating and facilitating public hearings, meetings and activities for the Bureau of Environment. Meetings include regulatory hearings, information sessions with Chambers of Commerce and TN Dept of Economic Community Development to assist with preliminary site exploration and permitting processes.

•Program Lead to development/design and implement residential energy efficiency financing for Electric Co-ops.•Oversaw two cohorts of Professional Energy Management (PEM) training for approx 30+ trainees.•Served on TN’s Energy Efficient Schools Initiative Board.•Served on TN’s Housing Development Agency’s Weatherization Assistance Program Board.•Supported Pathway Lending Energy Efficiency Loan Program.

•Launched Collect Impact Initiative and convened partner agencies to address affordable housing. •Completed Points of Light Service Enterprise Certificate Program to assist partner agencies in strategically leveraging volunteers to achieve operational efficiency and greater social impact.•Aligned agency mission with community needs using data from Metro Nashville's Annual Needs Assessment Report.

•Generated over $1M in program opportunities during my tenure. •Created and managed an award-winning Home Energy Savings program utilizing public/private partnerships to complete volunteer-led energy retrofits in underserved communities. •Retooled and re-launched the Mayor’s Nashville Energy Works program providing an online hub of curated resources for homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.•Championed the first non-profit partnership for TVA’s Energy Right Solutions program. •Co-launched Go Green Home Services, a social enterprise between Village Real Estate and Hands On Nashville to provide a full range of energy upgrades to residential homes. •Created the Green & Healthy Communities Initiative spanning 8 schools, 10 nonprofits and 10 low-income homes to foster healthier, more engaged communities through education and energy upgrades. •Among 230+ businesses, received the Mayor’s Workplace Challenge “Highest Overall Score” Award in 2014 for the agency’s best practices in Green, Healthy and Involved categories. •Created a Green Ambassadors Initiative for all corporate projects and large special events to reduce material waste and increase project savings. •Created office best practices including: a comprehensive Staff Resource Guide to Sustainability, an office recycling protocol, a kitchen compost initiative, and policies covering printing, purchasing, and health and wellness. •Fostered key donor relationships to secure program funding. Engaged community stakeholders to leverage program effectiveness and improved outcomes. •Developed metrics to measure program effectiveness and implemented improvement measures to streamline operations.•Successfully managed 3 full-time staff, 2 contractors, multiple vendors and over 1,500 volunteers.

•Co-lead the construction of Habitat Twin Cities’ first LEED Platinum home. •Taught unskilled volunteers building methods through hands-on instruction and oversight. •Prepared the site daily for 20+ volunteers and led orientation. •Learned alternative energy efficient building techniques to achieve LEED Platinum

•Assisted Project Managers in rehabbing dozens of single-family homes including-- drafting layouts, to coordinating contractors, and tradesmen. •Created punch lists and oversaw projects though completion. •Processed invoices, change orders and wrote bid documents. •Managed contracts and projects for 5 residential high-rises, totaling 1,000+ units. •Maintained detailed business accounts and corresponded with contractors to keep projects on schedule.
