I am Executive Director/CEO at the Momental Foundation, a not for profit grantmaking foundation and impact-focused startup accelerator. The mission of Momental is to build bridges between the academic, entrepreneurial, and civil society communities.We are a member organization of Taizo Son's Mistletoe Collective Impact Community. As an entrepreneurship and tech policy scholar, I have held positions at Stanford University (Silicon Valley - New Japan Project, Freeman Spogli Institute) and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth (Strategy & Management Faculty group / Center for Digital Strategies). My research centers on competitive dynamics of tech industries, the platform economy, startup ecosystems, and innovation management. I hold a PhD (University of Southern California) and an MA (Georgetown University). Prior to pursuing a PhD, I headed three federally-funded operational R&D projects at the Global Argus Research Operations Center, a leading defense and IC contractor in disease and disaster intelligence. In this role, I worked with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Open Source Center, University of Iowa Avian Flu prediction market, and Al Fornace molecular biology lab. Prior to Argus, I was Research and Marketing Director of The Style & Image Network, a boutique marketing consultancy.Additional experience includes geopolitical consulting (Intellibridge, CastleAsia, Courage Services), pro bono work with the UNA-NCA, and pieces as a Contributor to Foreign Policy Digest, where I wrote about regional trade policy, global health, and sectarian conflict. A US citizen, I was raised in Indonesia, Thailand & Singapore.
