About Jaclyn Skold

I’m seeking a career transition into the tech industry where I can apply my entrepreneurial mindset, problem solving skills, and learnings from my past decade of experience working in creative industries with small businesses. I thrive in fast-paced work cultures that value innovation, inclusivity, accountability and ownership. I’d love a role that leverages my collaboration and project management skills and continues to deepen my client-service, communication and analytical skills. I recently graduated from Cal State Chico in May 2024 magna cum laude with a B.S. in Social Sciences. For the past 10 years, I’ve enjoyed working in creative industries with a variety of small businesses. After graduating from the SF Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, I founded my own jewelry label and brand - Bone White Jewelry. I also spent time as a Product Manager at Rebecca Overman Studio, a local SF jewelry studio specializing in handmade fine engagement. I helped design and managed the luxury customer experience and handled all client communications, partnerships and vendor collaboration and helped craft pieces as a bench jeweler. I then transitioned to helping Milo & Friends, a local Napa pet boutique, launch their e-commerce site and also helped streamline their inventory management system. A fun part of my role was owning the events strategy to deepen relationships with the local community. Currently, I’m working at Free People as a Senior Stylist and Sales Associate where I design and implement our merchandising strategies. I create innovative new styling and refresh visuals for our store’s entire display, floorplan and mannequins based on inspiration from corporate HQ for weekly customer persona updates. I’ve become the top sales rep at my location, by consistently exceeding quota and also the most complimented sales rep, receiving the highest organic number of customer compliment emails each month. I value putting customers first and meeting them where they are. I’ve developed a custom, client-oriented approach, leading with empathy to deeply understand each person’s individual needs and shopping goals. I’m excited to leverage all of the transferable skills in sales, client services, marketing, operations and events and bring them to the tech industry. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my two long-haired dachshunds Bowie and Zuki, scuba diving and riding motorcycles. I also continue to invest in creative pursuits such as jewelry design, metalsmithing, ceramics, crochet and baking.

  • Free People
    Senior Stylist | Sales Associate
Free People Aug 2023 - Present
As a Senior Stylist and Sales Associate at Free People, I’m responsible for designing and implementing merchandising strategies in collaboration with our visual manager to increase average transaction volume (ATV) per customer. I create innovative new styling and refresh visuals for our store’s entire display, floorplan and mannequins based on inspiration from corporate HQ for weekly customer persona updates.I’ve always valued putting our customers first and meeting them where they are. I’ve developed a custom, client-oriented approach, leading with empathy to deeply understand each person’s individual needs and shopping goals. Using this strategy, I’ve become the top sales rep at my location by consistently exceeding quota and also the most complimented sales rep, receiving the highest organic number of customer compliment emails each month. I’m also incredibly proud of helping our store achieve the honor of most complimented store in our district.I’ve helped increase our profitability over the past 2 years by creating daily sales strategies and training our team of 3 managers and 7 stylists to implement the following: 1) targeting ATV by increasing number of items per transaction and/or increasing spend on higher priced items2) upselling customers looking for individual items by suggesting add-ons to create a full outfit3) targeting categories where our store is below the company average to close the gap4) increasing business transaction spread (BTS) by improving sales dollar amount y/y I enjoy onboarding and mentoring our new hires to become top-performing stylists– teaching them sales techniques, customer success and communication skills and helping them learn the day-to-day operations. I consistently encourage them to interact with the product and the team in a personal way to keep them inspired and motivated. A fun part of my role is planning team bonding events to help retention and promote stronger relationships amongst our team members.
  • Milo & Friends
    Operations & Events Coordinator
    Milo & Friends Jun 2020 - May 2022
    Napa, California, United States
At Milo & Friends, a small local Napa pet boutique, I managed all operations, inventory, e-commerce and events for the business as their Operations & Event Coordinator. I designed, built, and scaled the in-store and online inventory management system. I also developed a marketing and events strategy to help us deepen relationships with the local community and doubled the boutique’s sales over two years.I created and implemented our strategy to transform the store’s e-commerce presence and grew online sales revenue to 10% of total revenue within the first 6 months of launch. I built out the storefront on Shopify, re-designed and re-branded our entire website which included making product trees, adding tags for search and discovery and a full overhaul of rich media, content and descriptions to boost our SEO and sales conversion. Our in-store inventory management also needed a refresh – I optimized this by not only phasing out low performing SKUs but also by creating a streamlined price tracking database and system to help reduce checkout time by 50%. After creating this scalable system for inventory growth, I trained the owner and other employees on how to use it effectively.Another large piece of my role included event planning and marketing – I handled everything for our annual events, logistics, vendor contracts, partnerships, marketing, social media, and content creation. One of my favorite creations was coming up with and launching the idea for our “Santa Paws” event. The goal of this event was to foster community and boost holiday sales. We offered Santa photoshoots with a minimum purchase – who doesn’t love a cute photoshoot with their beloved pets? The event not only boosted our foot traffic and holiday sales revenue but also became an annual tradition featured in the local newspaper. This was only one of multiple annual in-store events that I planned and coordinated for various holidays, adoptions and collaborations with other SMBs.
  • Bone White Jewelry
    Founder
Bone White Jewelry Jun 2018 - Feb 2021
    San Francisco, California, United States
After graduating from the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, I decided to found my own jewelry brand – Bone White Jewelry. I launched a handcrafted jewelry line dedicated to celebrating self-expression and individuality, inspired by the spirit of powerful, free-spirited female motorcyclists focusing on heirloom-quality pieces that reflect unique personas. I fully self-financed and built this business from the ground up. This experience taught me the full spectrum of business operations, from branding and digital marketing to customer engagement and e-commerce. Bone White Jewelry was more than a brand; it was a way for customers to express their unique identities with style and meaning.Starting with a launch collection of 30 pieces, I grew Bone White Jewelry from zero to over 50 customers within the first six months. I designed, built, and optimized our website on Shopify to ensure a seamless online experience, implementing SEO-focused strategies including product trees, categories, and content updates to boost our visibility and reach.Branding was a core element of Bone White’s identity. I created all visual elements myself using Photoshop. This included the logo, packaging, business cards, and jewelry care sheets, all of which reflected the brand’s distinctive aesthetic and quality. To drive engagement and growth, I ran Instagram ad campaigns, using analytics to track ad performance and iterating on successful campaigns to boost conversions. I also crafted a monthly email newsletter to maintain a loyal customer base and announce new collections, keeping customers connected to the brand’s evolving story.
