Trauma Nurse
Current-Assist in the rapid, detailed assessments of critically injured patients, utilizing advanced trauma protocols to prioritize care and stabilize patients upon arrival.-Perform continuous monitoring of vital signs, airway, breathing, circulation (ABCs), and neurological status in critically ill patients, responding quickly to changes in condition.-Assist in Complex Trauma Procedures: Provide support during complex trauma surgeries (e.g., thoracotomies, laparotomies, fractures, surgical airways ) by helping prepare surgical equipment, maintaining sterile technique, giving necessary medications, and anticipating the needs of trauma surgeons.-Hemorrhage Control & Critical Care: Administer advanced interventions for hemorrhagic shock, including blood product transfusions, IV fluid resuscitation, and other life-saving measures.-Trauma Resuscitation: assist in trauma resuscitations, using advanced tools and assisting with intubation, central line placement, chest tubes, and Foley catheter insertion, as required for trauma management.-Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with trauma surgeons, anesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists, and other specialists to ensure a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to trauma care.-Patient & Family Communication: Provide compassionate communication with families regarding the patient's status, offering emotional support and guidance through a crisis.-Trauma Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of trauma interventions, treatments, and patient progress in EPIC, ensuring compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.-Education & Training: Mentor and precept new trauma nurses-Continuing Education & Certification: Stay current with the latest trauma care protocols and certifications
