Responsible for overall operation of VOA's school based program.Lead the development and maintenance of effective relationships with referents and allied agencies. Responsible for oversight of program budget, including reaching earned revenue projections in order to maintain sustainability. Oversee orientation, training, and supervision of clinical school based counseling staff. Provides feedback to supervisees, both verbally and through written performance evaluations. Identifies areas for continued growth and develops skill development activities and training plans to meet these needs. Assists in the development and maintenance of the effective relationships with community partners.

· Manage, train, and equip a team clinical staff and interns in school-based counseling services with under resourced youth. · As part of the executive management staff, contribute to strategic planning, fundraising, and reporting.· Catalyst for the Gang Avoidance Initiative Now program and Wonder (for transgender and gender non-conforming youth) to provide social emotional support and advocacy for high risk adolescents with a reduction in school dropout rate and legal involvement.· Maintain a caseload of individual/family counseling clients with consistently improved social outcomes.

· Initiated trauma assessment and staff training and support to increase resources for the 7900-student body at J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 to increase effectiveness in classroom management and improve graduation rates.· Expanded school-based counseling services to Morton West High School, serving more than 200 students annually.· Managed a team of crisis counselors responsible for calls from schools, police stations, and hospitals in five towns for runaway, locked out, and ungovernable youth.

· Established school-based counseling services at Morton Freshman Center which provided assessment, case management, and short-term individual and family counseling for assigned caseload focusing on clients with reactive aggression and exposure to trauma. · Delivered crisis intervention services including emergency assessment, family reunification, and emergency placement for youth, reducing Department of Child and Family Services and law enforcement involvement.

Manage a caseload of 12 individual clients at non-profit/community human services organization serving a diverse client base of youth ranging from ages 10 to 17 and parents.Led a group for teenage multiple offenders providing direction in anger management, healthy relationships, and job readiness. Provided required documentation, including case notes, billing, assessments and goals pertaining to clients' treatment.Participated in case presentations and staffing presentations on new therapeutic techniques .

· First civilian to gain access and trust with police officers and administration resulting in a series of activities to improve Department performance.· Advocated for, created, and implemented officer wellness initiatives which resulted in the creation of an Officer Wellness Committee, Department gym, and Peer Support Team and led to improved morale and increased trust among officers and administration.· Designed and implemented trauma-informed officer training with 90% responding that the content would be incorporated in their daily interactions with the community. · Leadership role in the Peer Support Team to run meetings, plan activities, support officers and their families, and facilitate critical incident debriefs. · Launched the first Handle with Care Program in Illinois resulting in 100% adoption in the target community with follow-on expansion surrounding communities.· Led collaboration between the community and officers to increase the percentage of positive interactions including, but not limited to, police/youth summits, sports tournaments, and preschoolers/parents/police events.

Taught Working with Children and Adolescents for the social work department. Created and implemented curriculum that would provide students the academic background to be effective in working with youth and their families. Focus of the lectures was on the history, social policies and contemporary issues impacting children and adolescents. Facilitated class discussions covering fundamental theories, skills and policy/standards as it pertains to social workers working with youth and their families in human services and the non-profit sector.

· Recruited staff and interns for urban youth ministry to staff two youth centers. · Traveled around the country to speak at colleges to educate college students about urban ministry and to develop a pipeline for future staffing needs. · Coordinated local and out of state volunteer groups in order to reduce overhead costs and develop donor relationships for the organization.

Contributed to research projects related to pilot fatigue.Designed and implemented research scenarios for a pilot training simulator.Contributed to research proposals and publications that yielded over a million dollars in grants.
