I am a data scientist by nature and love writing code to solve complex problems or to identify new gaps or pieces of information from within big data. My passion is applying my coding, analytical and statistical skills to develop models or algorithmic code to analyze, predict and make decisions given a set of specific conditions depending on the particular problem.When I was in school I started playing around with computers and its insides and started writing basic code. I have always loved science and in university discovered how I could combine my coding skills and technical knowledge with science to solve complex problems that exist in that nexus. Since 2016 I have been learning and working with some of the largest datasets. Working in the governmental sector and having access to national datasets as well as working on international projects has been instrumental to my experience and development. Developing my data analytics, processing, visualization and model development skillset based on some of the complex problems existing in that large sphere. That formed the base of my technical skills and abilities. Since then I have developed a hunger to explore some of the other possible sectors and industries where my skills of data analytics and processing can be applied to provide new value or insights. Nothing is impossible with a good attitude and determination to face and conquer the problem you are faced with. And coding and big data analytics and processing is a excellent tool to use for that.

  Working as a scientist in applications research group at the South African Weather Service since 2016. Focusing on research and development of products in the agro-, energy-, health- and hydro-sectors. Updating and storing of vast amounts of historical data. Preparing and processing of large datasets with numerous different variables. Applying different mathematics and statistics in order to identify new information and trends that can aid in the decision making process. Developing models and machine learning algorithms to forecast and predict certain variables into the future. Providing data visualizations of research and study results and advanced report writing. All my work is based on Python code and GIS processing techniques. Lately have been developing models and machine learning algorithms to gain a deeper understanding of hidden correlations and trends within big data. Working for government gave me the incredible opportunity to develop an immense knowledge base of data processing and analytics with access to some of the largest datasets. That enabled me to develop my knowledge and understanding immensely.
