Appointed CEO of Sylvania Platinum Ltd, a low-cost producer or PGMs that is listed on AIM, a sub-market of the London Stock Exchange from 1 March 2020, after being with the Company since Jan '12 and occupying the role of Managing Director of Sylvania Metals, a fully owned subsidiary of publicly listed Sylvania Platinum since Apr 2014.Started career at AngloGold Ashanti in 1998, as a metallurgist and occupied various technical and production management positions at both AngloGold Ashanti and Anglo Platinum between 2002 and 2010. Joined Anglo American's Mining and Technology team as principal metallurgist, between 2010 and 2011, with involvement in various strategic project and operations reviews worldwide in copper, manganese, coal, and platinum.Since joining Sylvania during Jan '12, been an integral part of the Sylvania team that grew the annual PGM production profile from approximately 42,000oz in FY2011 to 76,000oz in FY2020 at improved efficiencies and market leading operating cost.Qualified as a metallurgical engineer who obtained a B.Eng (Extractive Metallurgy) from the University of Pretoria in 1997, with both a PDBA (2004) and an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business (UP) in 2007, and who has approximately 20 years of experience in the mining industry.
