Once the Architect & client are happy with the proposal I take over the project to complete everything required to begin the build, including the Building Permit application submission, construction sets and shop drawing review.My day-to-day tasks include preparation & issuance of working drawings (complete set), coordination with consultants & vendors (structural engineers, HVAC designers, truss manufacturer's, window & door manufacturer's, etc.), various team members (Architect, Interior Designer, Project Manager's) and Municipal staff and review of shop drawings (trusses, TJI floor layouts and window & door quotes).Some tasks I handle include the following:- Work independently on projects and consult with various team members when required- Balance multiple projects simultaneously and work towards deadlines- Preparation of working drawings (Permit sets, Construction sets)- Coordination with multiple consultants to ensure deadlines are met- Building Permit application submissions with all required approvals, drawings & documentation- Shop drawing review- Train new employess on office & drawing standards- Handle office tasks such as tracking of inventory & ordering of supplies Show less

With regards to new builds I ensure the site planning conforms to not only the OBC, but all applicable urban design guidelines and zoning regulations of the municipality. My role allows me to be involved on each project from preliminary design to site plan approvals, working drawings, building permit applications and assistance with field questions throughout construction. It is also my responsibility to coordinate with consultants for the preparation of addition plans, such as Site Grading, Site Servicing, Site Lighting, Landscaping, Electrical and Mechanical Plans. I work closely with my co-workers to ensure the project is completed effectively and efficiently to the satisfaction of the client.
