Since I was given my first laptop, I have always been interested in computers. Not only that but ever since I played my first video game, I have always dreamed of being able to create my own. So when I first arrived at Rutgers University–New Brunswick as a transfer student, it became my desire to achieve that dream I had set for myself. I have decided to major in Computer Science (either in B.S. or B.A.), for which I am expected to graduate in May of 2025. During my time there, I have taken courses that improved my writing skills and helped me develop my problem-solving skills. I am interested in game development or software development not only because I enjoy video games and aspire to make my own someday but also because I have a deep fascination with creating software and the multitude of potential applications. I work as a shift supervisor at my hometown’s local Burger King, where I have learned how to work in a fast-paced environment and developed my customer service, leadership, and managerial skills. In fact, on more than one occasion, I solved a customer’s problem or helped another staff member through my communication and problem-solving skills. As a shift supervisor, I adapted to a demanding environment while balancing schoolwork, work, and personal time. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, going out and exploring nature, discovering new interests, and spending time with friends and family. I am open to exploring internship opportunities over the summer and connecting with people to learn more about careers in game and software development.
