I really enjoy my work with our small team performing financial valuations of the multitude of subfunds that are a part of the Brummer hedge fund umbrella. Automation of the valuation processess, quantitative support to the different funds and for inhouse purposes, are just a few of the many tasks in this role.

Stockholm

As a team member of the trading team at IPM I held a dual role; that of a trader and that of developer. We traded a wide variety of financial instruments including futures, interest rates swaps, equities, fixed income and commodities. I developed programs and tools that aided both my own department and the risk office. Programs I have written included tools for portfolio management of fixed income, trade cost analysis, price models and market spread risk measures.

I was a part of a team that was hired as consultants by nuclear plants to construct computer models of the reactor and perform safety analysis. The work was divided in three parts, first designing a complete reactor model, then performing a safety analysis and lastly writing documents that the plant owners could display to authorities. Västerås

I had the opportunity to do my thesis using the state-of-the-art new reactor simulation code. I was to do reactor simulations with a better designed reactor outlet and inlet to see if that generated better results. I concluded after two months that this was not the case, the transient model department at Westinghouse was very kind and kept me as a form of house cat for the duration of my thesis giving me things to calculate that they did not have funding nor the time for.

Boden

My service was done on skis in the north of Sweden in the winter. As a city boy this was a brutal awakening to the outdoors lifestyle, but it was the starting point of many of my now most cherished hobbies; hiking, skiing and hunting.

I took a semester of economics in order to get a feel for the career path I was contemplating. The education was good, and I was convinced.
