Texan at heart, grew up in Central Texas 21+ years and currently based in Upstate South Carolina. B1 level proficient in Spanish. A barista with 4+ years experience who is persistent in the pursuit of growth and takes initiative and responsibility to support my team and clientele through attention to detail, creativity, empathy, problem solving, and being proactive. Despite having a wide range of experience at many coffee shops, I’ve developed a broader understanding of the coffee industry as a whole. My perspective allows me to provide many different solutions to help any team and business overcome its unique challenges. Coffee is my passion, you can find me at local cafes on my days off, if not I’m probably at home making my third cup of coffee on my Gaggia Classic, or watering my small coffee tree and house plants. I’m also passionate about Urban Design and the Spanish language and its many cultures around the world. I completed Spanish 4 AP in high-school in 2016 and still use and apply my Spanish conversationally with friends, listening to music, speaking with customers and coworkers, taquerías, panaderías and markets. Although I haven’t traveled abroad yet, I have been to San Juan, Ponce and Juana Diaz in Puerto Rico. I’m hoping to travel to Spain or Mexico soon!I’m self-motivated, always looking to grow, and continuously to apply my knowledge and build my skills. I’m a strong believer that learning isn’t a destination, but a journey. Currently my goals are to pursue certifications with the SCA, preparing for the Cervantes DELE exam for C1 Spanish fluency, and continue growing my experience in coffee roasting, and cupping.
