Hi! My name is Jacob Boese.I graduated with high honors from Dakota State University in May 2023 with a BS in Computer Science and a Minor in Mathematics. I've only worked a 4 month internship with Northeast Technical Services in Virginia, Minnesota as a programmer, but I am eager to find a job applying what I've learned over my 4 years at DSU. Over this 4 month period, I began learning Visual Basic while developing a proof of concept Chemical Tracker to ensure compliance with environmental regulations along with an equipment tracker for internal tools and vehicles. Most of my work experience falls outside of programming, but they've taught me a lot about team work, efficiency, attention to detail and leadership. These jobs include Food Service Worker, Stage Hand, Office Assistant, and most recently Porter.I was a member of the Mesabi East High School swim team for 5 years and acted as a team captain for my senior year. I dedicated time both on and off season to improving my times and techniques, sometimes coming in early in the morning to get some extra practice in before class. I played the trumpet in the Concert, Jazz, and Marching Bands throughout high school. I practiced year round to develop my skills and exceed what was expected of us as high school musicians.

  I worked on a couple of projects that had been on the back-burner for some time. During my time at NTS, I gained experience working with Microsoft Access, reviewed some of my knowledge of SQL and database design, began learning Visual Basic, and worked closely with a few coworkers to discover requirements for and ultimately begin work on these projects.
