I rotated between a DevOps team and a Systems Engineering team, shadowing members, attending weekly stand ups, and developing my own projects throughout the duration. These projects were focused around automation, repeatability, and decreasing unnecessary resources, and were developed primarily using Jenkins and Powershell.At the conclusion of the internship, I created a presentation summarizing my projects and what I learned during the program, and performed it to various developers, managers, and higher-ups that I was associated with.The projects I developed include:1) Cleaned up non-leased hard drives in Azure with Powershell, and created a Jenkins Pipeline to automate and schedule the process. Saved thousands of dollars per year by reducing unnecessary costs and removing unused resources.2) Tore down virtual machines in Azure as they became idle/unnecessary throughout a Regression Test in Jenkins, saving both time and resources, and allowing for more scalability.3) Supported the automated and repeatable execution of a set of micro service tools for a development team, creating a virtual machine image and virtual machine, and facilitating the entire process within a Jenkins Pipeline.

Throughout my time in this position I familiarized myself with an existing Microsoft SQL Server database, and designed and created tables, views, and stored procedures on the server. Most of my projects involved analyzing parts of the aforementioned database, adding programmability or new data models, and integrating the database with Powershell to automate various tasks. These projects include but are not limited to: 1) Writing Powershell scripts to create and upload Healthcare Eligibility Benefit Inquiries based on patient data from the server, download and evaluate Eligibility Benefit Response files, and then update patient data in the server based on the response.2) Using Powershell to fetch relevant data from the server for a table of users, and send each user an HTML formatted email of the information they are permitted to see.
