Researched and wrote legal memoranda on various issues including garnishment under the Mandatory Victims Restoration Act, criminal and civil forfeiture, SEC disgorgement, federal sentencing guidelines, motions for judicial reassignment on remand, supervised release, and appellate standard of review for police body camera footage.

Researched and wrote legal memoranda on ineffective of counsel claims raised in a §2255 appeal, compelled speech under the First Amendment, Fourteenth Amendment incorporation jurisprudence, severability, and prison violence data. Drafted a portion of a reply brief for a claim appealed to the Louisiana Supreme Court. Drafted a motion to quash. Analyzed jury venire data and relevant voting rights history for a Duren claim.

Utilized graphic networking analysis, Gephi, to visualize campaign finance data. Created guides for geolocation of campaign donations for clients, OpenRefine for cleaning up datasets, and Excel basics for analyzing data. Mined and organized data from LegiScan for voting records analysis.

Working to ensure that the public sector uses data analytics and innovative technologies to empower the community and strengthen government-resident relations. Ensuring that access to the Internet, technology, and devices is a 21st-Century civil right. Managed the City's Group Violence Initiative (GVI) to reduce gun violence in the community.

Managed a $15K digital ads campaign for 270’s client iVote supporting automatic voter registration during the veto override session in Illinois. Worked with iVote’s team to help manage an independent expenditure campaign for New Mexico’s Secretary of State race. Created and managed website content for iVote. Wrote multiple iVote press releases and memos. Managed iVote’s social media accounts, reaching, on average, 20K-25K people a week.

Worked with an executive committee of six students in conjunction with the Oxford Law Faculty to provide comprehensive, quality pro bono legal research for international NGO’s. Edited and reviewed research groups' final projects before publication. Principal reader for a report on “Legal Developments in Secret Rendition After 2010.” Publicized, reviewed applications for, and interviewed individuals for OPBP internship funding opportunities.

Geographically and statistically analyzed the population that used EMS services for bronchial dilators to decide optimal placement for service areas. Created a geographic methodology and statistically analyzed the effects of the Vacant and Abandoned Home initiative. Discovered statistically significant variables that identified characteristics of the population who paid in person for utilities and created an optimal payment center option as to better fit their needs. Created 3D space-time cubes of crime, code enforcement violations, fire and EMS calls and ran emerging hot spot analyses using ArcGIS to find areas for the optimal execution of public services. Statistically analyzed census data to explore and identify areas of higher need for community outreach and developed key performance indicators for the Community Outreach director.

Co-wrote with and coded data for Michael Burch, PhD. The International Politics of Adoption. Presented The International Politics of Adoption at the 42nd Annual African Studies Association Conference. Created and coded data for the first database of individual characteristics of African leaders since 1960. Hosted exam review sessions, led weekly Model UN discussions, and assisted in lecture for PSC 242, Introduction into International Relations.

Investigated Felony 1 and General Felony crimes in the District of Columbia. Managed up to 7 investigations at a time. Gained expert investigation techniques such as statement taking, witness finding, crime scene investigation, canvassing for evidence, serving subpoenas, and all tasks that originated in the course of an investigation. Worked with two attorneys, two staff investigators, and a fellow intern partner in the course of case investigations.

Worked alongside attorneys, paralegals, and advocates with client interviews, hearings, and clinics. Wrote, researched, and applied for grants worth $20,000 to support Legal Aid. Assisted with organizing Legal Aid’s annual campaign to raise $300,000. Managed marketing materials, social media, and press releases.

Wrote and researched grants worth $5,000 to fund PUP and compiled a detailed list of funding prospects. Researched e-waste and yellow grease biodiesel fuel production. Gained valuable knowledge on collaboration, innovation, and community engagement by working on the DOME Project, Super Bowl XLVII material, and PUPstops.
