Leading Gelion’s battery recycling unit - Battery Minerals

Support both the commercialisation and technical research efforts relating to Gelion’s Lithium-Sulfur technology. Specifically managing marketing and investor relating materials, implementing commercial strategies, and conducting research and analysis to inform both business development and technology development. The role works alongside the Gelion technology team, leveraging technical expertise alongside commercial objectives to help inform product and R&D strategy to deliver the next-generation of lithium-based batteries.

Helping to commercialise breakthrough battery technologies as part of the business development team.Focussed around raising capital and fostering business relationships at Gelion. The role requires a multidisciplinary approach to design and produce investor presentations, websites, and market announcements.

Working with Prof. Thomas Maschemeyer in the School of Chemistry, the research project is focussed on developing next-generation battery materials to boost capacity and charge rates with a view to increase range in electric vehicles and unlock novel electric powered applications. The project requires expert-level knowledge in materials chemistry - fostering skills such as materials characterisation (electron microscopy, spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction), electrochemical testing (fabrication of thin-film electrodes, coin/pouch cell format batteries, cycling, impedance spectroscopy, voltametry), and extensive data analysis skills (linear regression, curve fitting).
