Designed audio and HVAC controls in passenger vehicles for most major car manufacturers. Corrected pre-production fit and finish issues (squeaky/mushy/sticking buttons). Designed, simulated, and prototyped lighting solutions for knob and button indicators. This involved collaboration with other engineers to determine the allowable space and lighting constraints. Summarized customer specifications to ensure the design team had a clear understanding of the project. Wrote engineering change orders. Created and revised engineering drawings and checked measurements of parts. Reviewed components with plastic injection suppliers to make the parts easier to mold.

Constructed engine stands for both diesel and gasoline engines. Instrumented engines with sensors such as thermocouples, in-cylinder pressure transducers, rotary encoders, lambda sensors, etc. Diagnosed and solved pre-existing problems with data acquisition units. Operated and ran specific tests on engines. Determined problems with and repaired engines. Replacing head gaskets, fuel injectors, fuel pumps, cooling systems.

Designed and built an open wheel, open cockpit racecar. Modeled every part in SolidWorks then built, tested, and competed with the vehicle against teams from around the world. I was in charge of the controls team.
