7 week PlacementTasks/Responsibilities: • Collaborating with local health clinic ‘Churches of Christ Medical Santo’ and ‘Northern Provincial Hospital’ to provide service and intervention for patients and members of the community of varying ages and conditions.• Collaborating with clients and their families to develop realistic interventions and achieve the most effective outcomes.• Conducting regular home visits to perform informal assessments and intervention.Achievements: • Facilitated the establishment of a local spinal chord injury association and enabled a wheelchair user client to head this organization with support from local disability service.• Enabled 16-year-old boy to walk unassisted with the use of wheeled walker and elbow crutches. • Facilitated playgroup for young children in a regional village.

Tasks/Responsibilities: • Managing daily calendar activities designed to engage residents in meaningful occupation. • Updating resident profiles (hobbies and interests) through informal interview. • Development and implementation of social group programs using occupational therapy theory to achieve meaningful and therapeutic engagement for residents. Achievements: • Adapted the ‘Tree of Life’ (Dulwich Centre, 2008) program to suit the needs of the older adult and implemented this program over a five week period. • Facilitated five-week ‘men’s shed’ program.
