I first started in the field of robotics all the way back in 4th grade when I was a founding member of our school's FLL robotics team. I continued with the FIRST program through to my junior year of high school, our FRC team won a number of awards, including the Chairman's award, bringing us to worlds-level competition. I left the team my senior year only to make time to lead a team of students in establishing a Global Foundries-sponsored VR education classroom in my high school. In college, I continued my pursuit of robotics, earning a Bachelor of Science in robotics from SUNY Plattsburgh. During my time there, I would go on to continue my involvement in FIRST by mentoring a local FTC team. I also took an internship with Moldrite Plastics in the CME division where I worked on a number of industrial automation machines, specifically plastic injection molding robots. During my senior year, I took on an independent study of the "ball and plate machine", a machine vision-based system that tracks a metal sphere on a flat plate and adjusts the leveling to the plate to keep the ball centered. In my summer and winters off from school, I worked as a math tutor in the Mathnasium company. On average, I would tutor over a dozen kids per day between grade levels k-12. This experience was essential in further developing my teaching and communication skills, as well as reminding me of the importance of fundamentals in any field. Currently, I am seeking a job in the engineering field, and while my passion lies primarily in robotics, I would enjoy a career and almost any engineering position; software, mechanical, electrical, etc. My primary desire is to learn and grow, I am very open to new experiences and challenges and adapt well to new circumstances. I have tremendous experience both working in and leading teams of any size. I look forward to my future career and I cannot wait to learn even more.
