The Information Systems department at the City of Middletown installs, oversees, and develops many government computer processes within the city. As an Intern, I am responsible for overseeing our helpdesk, cloud services, and network equipment. While also receiving daily tasks centered around software troubleshooting, computer hardware maintenance, and networking for the various departments using our services and hardware. I Maintain and audit the IT infrastructure for over 400+ employees within the municipality, including the public safety / law enforcement equipment. I conduct security and performance assessments on server and computer equipment, facilitate new AV/MDC equipment for law enforcement and bug fix various software issues whenever they may arise.

As a Sales Associate at MC. my task was to provide technical help, sales advice, and build business relationships with clients as they purchased computers and technology. Utilized various IT skills to answer complex technical questions, built rapport and drove positive sales and satisfaction, while diminishing returns and confusion. I was required to participate in technical sales training that provided in-depth knowledge of skills such as networking, computer building, 3D printing, virtualization, troubleshooting, security systems, and more. It was incentivized to provide communication and points of contact to customers through business cards, email, and phone to provide technical help and sales inquiries. The knowledge and effective sales practice I acquired helped raise store rankings to #1 in the company.
