Working a 5 day on/off rotational roster giving technical support and advice to the control room and operations crews across the entire refinery. Adjusting process parameters to maximize production, minimize operational costs and ensure quality compliance of the final Alumina product. Involvement in monitoring and improving process safety, process control logic and advanced process control.

Process Engineer providing technical support to operations and projects within the Precipitation section of the refinery. Data analysis to diagnose and optimise acute and chronic issues in the section and investigation into production and efficiency gains.

During the Crushing Season I work as a Production Shift Supervisor (June to Dec). Maintenance season I worked under the production department's Project Engineer. Shift Supervisor· Responsibilities: safety and wellbeing of crew, environment, product quality, overall factory efficiency and recovery of sucrose.· Supervise the chemical cleaning of the evaporator trains on maintenance days (approximately every 2.5 to 4 weeks).· First point of call for team members in resolving personnel, interpersonal and work related issues.· Use in-line, daily and weekly data to modify areas of plant operation maximising efficiency, product recovery and quality.· Writing daily shift reports logging process and factory performance.Project modelling and Data analysis· Model (Mass/Energy balance) for capital improvement works and preliminary budget estimates. Completed/installed projects include I have been a part of: heat exchanger instalation, evaporator upgrades, cooling water system upgrades.· Combining data analysis and chemical modelling for trouble shooting, such as boiler cold end acid corrosion and EDTA (cleaning chemical) regeneration.· Environmental responsibilities: Monitor, treat and release effluent ponds. Set up instrumentation, monitor and compile data for air born particulates. · Aid other departments through modelling and data analysis. E.g. Boiler tube degradation rate (Engineering Department), Drug/alcohol test frequency requirements (HR Department), Technical budget modelling (Management).

Private tuition of year 11 and 12 high school students organised through associate networks.

I worked as bar staff and Floor Manager during this period. Floor manager from July 2012. Responsibilities: till counting and balancing, daily takings records, data entry and takings balancing/book keeping.
