Custom machinery requires thinking outside of the box. I design everything from modifications/improvements to existing machines to entire, stand-alone machines that accomplish various light assembly and packaging tasks. 3D model creation and print creation along with GD&T implementation are my specialties.

I design solutions to industry requirements. I designed and specified machine build requirements that will allow us to consolidate our older style machines with our newer ones into an efficient, effective package. I also followed through on revision changes that make our assembler's lives easier and our products run smoother.The 3D software I use here is Inventor and we utilize Vault for our file storage software.

I was the lead Engineer for the commercial line of trailers. I maintained and improved the line's efficiency and cost effectiveness. I designed and quoted new work for potential customers using the best practices of design for manufacturability. My designs met the customer's cost target and exceled at efficiently carrying their intended load, all while being as lean and cost effective to the business as possible.The 3D software we used was Inventor and I actively used the included FEA analysis function to ensure the trailer would safely carry the intended load. I was self-taught in using Inventor and took classes to be certified to use FEA through D3 Technologies.

My main job function is to take new products from our customers and turn them into painted and/or assembled goods. I design usable fixtures, detail drawings for sheet metal forming, welding, and assembly. I create detailed work instructions for welding, painting, assembly, and shipping. In addition to that, I manage the routings of parts to ensure they contain accurate information. PPAP submission, engineering changes, quality concerns, and cost reduction activities are also a main area of focus of my role at Helgesen.Our modeling software is Creo which is integrated with Windchill, our PLM software. In addition to using these I use Syteline, our version of ERP software, daily. I have an intimate knowledge for both packages as well as your standard Microsoft Office software package: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.I am the glue between the products we make and the customers that purchase them and I will never take that for granted.

I was trained in lean manufacturing: Shingo Model for Operational Excellence, 5S, Identifying muda (waste), and value stream mapping. I modeled space-saving, ergonomically acceptable carts for use on the production floor. I also modeled parts to be implemented into a 3D quality check program that eliminated wasted motion and decreased customer returns

I performed general maintenance on equipment such as lawn mowers and Gators. I helped water trees and plants, mowed grass, plowed snow, trimmed trees, and maintained parking lots.
