Following high school I found myself entering my state's famous fishing industry. I spent nearly a decade in some harsh environments working challenging hours through the summer months. While incredibly difficult at times, the years spent on the ocean helped me understand the value of hard work, as well as the toll it takes on your body. This experience helped me make the decision to pursue a college degree at age 28.I attended college remotely while managing a storage and rental facility. While not as physically demanding, this job came with its own set of challenges. Learning to interact with the public, and especially some difficult and hostile customers, is a skill that has helped me grow as a person. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Political Science in December of 2022. Since then I have moved into writing, public engagement, and content creation with the team at Dashy.
