As a Vice President I oversee and facilitate team meetings, documentation, sponsorship, and work towards developing a multi-faceted professional environment for the team where the members have room to grow and learn about rocketry; my goal is to ensure every member understands our systems, has meaningful work, and build professional skills through their work. I also serve as a primary line of communication between sub teams and keep good relationships with university and faculty advisors.I am active in the engineering of our vehicles as a former structures sub team member where I:• Design and integrate launch vehicle recovery, electronics, and propulsion systems using Solid Works and Fusion 360• Manufacture custom in-house components including fiber glass wound body tube, carbon fiber composite fins, and 3D printed electronics component housings• Perform modeling and simulation work on structural design using Ansys Finite Element Analysis

Generated computational fluid dynamics solutions with Star-CCM+ to support plume-surface interaction modeling and induced environments tasks for the Human Landing System (HLS). Founded the Marshall Intern Coalition and served as the PAXC center co-chair.

Performed validation work on landing leg surface contact models for the Human Landing System by adjusting the simulation to represent the lunar module vehicle and landing profile for the Apollo 11 mission and comparing it to onboard navigation data.

Worked with the Human Landing System (HLS) Induced Environments team studying Plume-Surface Interaction (PSI) -- how a hot rocket exhaust flow field interacts with granular medium of lunar/Martian regolith causing erosion/cratering to help improve spacecraft stability and astronaut visibility during landing.

The purpose of the lab is to study and analyze cavitating flows and mitigate their effects on erosion and disruptive behavior in aeronautical and ocean vehicles, particularly in ship turbines and rocket engines. Through this lab I have instilled a passion in fluid dynamics and research through the following:• Helping a PHD student perform experiments in cavitating flow with X-ray imaging and Particle Image Velocimetry to recreate pressure fields of the flow to understand its physical properties• Testing experimental rigs and equipment to ensure they are working properly and can easily be transported to other labs for experiments.•Developing CAD Models and coordinating with machine shops to facilitate the installation of a larger scale testing apparatus within the lab

Facilitated summer camps as a Residential Advisor and Program Assistant for underprivileged children to help them procure an interest in STEM and college. I helped organize and plan engaging daily activities in collaboration with other counselors, lead activities and projects in topics like drones, electronics, cybersecurity, and science/technology.

The goal of this team is to design and create an unmanned, electrical, radio-controlled aircraft that participates in an AIAA competition each year. Here I learned additive manufacturing techniques such as creating molds and performing carbon fiber composite layups, developed CAD models using Solidworks, working on design and implementation and key systems, and honed general manufacturing skills. Our team placed 5th out of 97 teams.
