My primary responsibility is to provide education and training to the hospital's EMS staff, as well as nursing staff. I also coordinate the county-wide EMS system's first responder liaison program, which exists to help Henry County's network of volunteer first responder programs meet the necessary administrative, quality assurance, and continuing education.

Served in the capacity of a medical crew member for an air medical transport company working in an Airbus H-135 helicopter. Duties included the provision of critical care level services for transport of patients between hospitals, or from the scene of acute medical or traumatic events. Served as front-line field paramedic in the city's Emergency Medical Services Department. In addition to 911 response, provided interfacility transport of a wide population of patient types in conjunction with an agreement between the city and Unity Point Health Systems. Public outreach and education was also a major part of our mission.

Served in the capacities of staff paramedic and shift supervisor. As a staff paramedic, responded to 911 calls throughout the county,and provided BLS/ALS/CCT transfer of patients from the local hospital to tertiary facilities elsewhere. As a shift supervisor, was responsible for the daily activities of two separate ambulance bases, and three ambulance crews.

Primarily provided transport of patients between facilities within the Mercy Health Network, which included emergency response to hospital operated clinics and urgent care centers. 911 back-up was provided to the communities of Altoona, Ankeny and Marion County when needed. EMS coverage for special events including Iowa Cubs Baseball, Iowa Energy.
