Serving as an fuel technician at Leading Edge Aviation has helped me improve upon my communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and time management skills. Developing these skills throughout my time at Leading Edge has been one of the most fulfilling achievements of my life. At LEA I assisted customers in running sales transactions, fueling aircraft, and coordinating transportation. I continue to see these skills pay dividends to my success. At Iowa Lakes Community College my skills were furthered as I was tasked with flight instructing while attending school. Fitting students and classes into my schedule furthered my ability to manage my time and resources. As a new instructor, I was assigned a plethora of students from different walks of life. The differing approaches required by each student meant that my skills in communication and collaboration were tested. As a transfer student to South Dakota State university, the approach to flight training differed from my previous experiences. This new approach required my to adapt and think critically when operating in a new and unfamiliar environment. Seeing new approaches to the operation of aircraft has furthered my appreciation of safety. As a student and instructor at a major university, I was able to further develop myself at a personally and professionally.
