I am a farm boy at heart. Growing up on a 400-acre farm, I got up every morning to move sprinklers and operate machinery, as well as countless other projects that came up during the day, then went home and did it again the next day. If there are two things the farm has taught me, it is how to adapt and always take care of those around me. Farm life is unpredictable; sudden rain/wind, a busted pipe, and livestock getting lost, all of these things will change your plans for the day. Trust me, there is always something. It can be overwhelming for anyone, no matter how long you have been doing it. Fortunately for my dad and me, we had neighbors and friends who always seemed ready to lend a helping hand. When life became too much for them, we helped them—years of working with and communicating with my community helped me build interpersonal skills that help me to this day. Since moving to Logan, I have had many more wonderful learning experiences. I am surviving university and working part-time, where I've learned how to perform market research and develop marketing strategies to help business reach their audiences. Working with so many small companies, I've had to learn how to create proposal writing to communicate with my employers effectively. I have even had the opportunity to help design products for a local 3D printing company. I am learning new things every day, and I couldn't be happier. When I am not studying or working, I go to concerts, hike, raft, explore the city, or enjoy a good book (I recommend The Lies of Lock Lamora).
