Being apart of the retail business as a Service Manager allows me to provide quality customer service. Making certain that all of the customers needs are satisfied is only one step in the management process. However, I am prepared and versed in the other steps of management, and have some experience when it comes to managing small to medium sized groups. While I am at Hy-Vee, the managers and assistants ask for my assistance when it comes to the interesting jobs. They know that I will get them done in a quick and orderly manner. With some of these jobs came the opportunity of leading a group of people. With this group, we were handed a list and told to complete it. My team and I completed this faster than the managers expected, so they started giving my group more jobs that involved different parts of the store. We completed them one after another, and easily breezed through many of Hy-Vee's training for different departments.Learning management from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln has given me many opportunities. With these opportunities, I have added new skills that will be necessary for leading, encouraging productivity, and overall cooperation when working at a management level.While playing with the University of Nebraska - Lincoln's varsity team in esports, I learned new ways to play a role on a small team of people. With this experience, I have learned many ways to work with a small team, and have been asked to help manage one of the teams in later years. By becoming a captain of this team, I have been able to use my leadership skills where they are needed. With this experience, I am learning how to maintain a small group, and have them cooperate with each other. There hasn't been any big problems from this team, and if any would arise I would help them through it and keep them working on the task at hand.With a management major in hand, my main goal is to assist the company gain greater streams of revenue, and open up the world to new ideas that were originally thought to be useless.
