I have spent my entire working career in the customer services sector. with the last 6 year's spent in the automotive industry as an After sales advisor. The automotive industry can be very cut throat especially through manufacturers customer satisfaction monitoring systems which evaluate and highlight to the manufacture where you as advisor went wrong or went right with each customer you look after. there is very little wriggle room particularly given how stressful and demanding the role can be. Manufactures will be looking for scores of no less than 9 out 10. Anything less and penalties are given to the dealership or the advisor themselvesMy current customer satisfaction scores with Audi are sitting at 4.7 out of 5. over the many years of experience in this role their is one thing I have learnt that is vital to customer satisfaction and that is clear, honest and regular communication. There is a huge amount of public distrust with the motor trade through a history bad practices so this communication is everything to solidify this trust with our customer base. This trust will build the foundation for everything else from upselling to retention.My role is not all about customer service, my role in dealership has a strong focus on upselling either identified work through vehicle health checks or through the selling of service plans to help customer retention within the dealer network, smart repairs on damaged bodywork, warranty work, non labour sales, accessories etc.Asides from my career. I am an extremely keen mountaineer and climber. This is huge passion of mine that I am very proud to have and even more proud that the incredible variety of skills and knowledge required to climb the huge mountains all around the world that I have, I have learnt all on my own, I should admit with some hard learnt lesson mixed in there also.This same fast learning, drive and hard bloody work that climbing mountains require I put into my everyday life. whether that be my work, training for my future summits again mountain or career.
