My role was to remotely manage a team of writers that were solely writing for online news content. I proof read and sub edited submitted pieces to ensure they were ready for site publication, all within a strict time adherence. I also liaised with industry officials such as PR, management, record labels and tour management to ensure that materials were distributed in a timely fashion which was to both of our satisfaction and to set the high standards we strived for. The news content also needed to be published on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram which was also handled by myself. This increased my already in depth knowledge of social media with the use of analytic figures being a prime example. Along side my news editor role I kept a keen interest on writing content, so when I had any spare time I continued to write reviews for records and live shows that were produced on the website and also long form articles and other content which was not used on the website.

DEAD PRESS! is an online music magazine with a focus on alternative music. In March 2017 I started as an unpaid writer for the website as a way to fulfil my passion for journalism in my spare time. My role as a writer required me to write a minimum of 5 news stories a week that varied from stories such as tour announcements to breaking news stories revolving around music. A minimum of 1 album review every week was also required and when possible, live shows were reviews and interviews with bands were conducted. These written pieces were all written along side the required style guide that DEAD PRESS! adheres to.
