In my time with the Army Research Lab, I have run hypersonic flow simulations over various geometries using FLASH, Eilmer, and US3D codes. Using FLASH I simulated hypersonic flow in near DNS level resolution for a sphere in three dimensions to assess the shock standoff distance and temporal evolution. Using US3D I simulated wave rider geometries with high fidelity and turbulence modeling to compare with a muti-partner Hypersonic CFD study. Using Eilmer I quantified the effect of surface roughness on the shockwave boundary layer interactions for a hypersonic double cone.

In my research I ran two phase flow CFD on Gerris software to study fuel atomization for multiple applications. I then moved on to simulating two phase flow in three dimensions, utilizing a supercomputing cluster, on the spray pattern and atomization of a slit type pintle injector for use in a Methane-LOX cycle liquid rocket engine combustion chamber. I am currently in the process of compiling the research into a journal paper for publication

My main task was to coordinate the closure of Verification Events with engineers and improve the tracking tool for all current Verification Events. Other tasks that I accomplished while at NASA include creating an Annual review presentation given to management at headquarters, and developing a new method of launch date predictive analysis to assess programmatic risk
