Under the direction of the O’odham and Piipaash Language Project (OPLP), I was part of a group that created a database to organize and manage over two thousand files, from various academic sources, that documented the O’odham and Piipaash community’s native language in the hopes of preventing the loss of the native language.

I rotated through the Emergency Department and Trauma Center at Banner University Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Over the course of the internship I followed HIPAA guidelines as I shadowed physicians, nurses, and a trauma team as they performed procedures and managed patients. My job duties involved rounding on patients and performing tasks asked by the floor nurses.
