Responsible for the day to day tasks of supporting the Operations and Engineering team leads to assist in the completion of critical paths to reach the planned dates for each step of the ships refit. • Responsible for auditing the TAGOUT, LOCKOFF and SHIPHAZ procedures which involves isolations and locking of all equipment on board a ship when any person wishes to work on a system to reduce the chance of an accident or incident.• Carry out health and safety rounds with the project leads on board the ship to ensure a Safe System of Work is being adhered to. • Carry out basic maintenance on board the ship for upkeep purposes.• Carry out watch keeping of a wide range of machinery and systems checking for any anomalies that may occur. E.g. High vibrations, fires, floods and overheating.• Ensuring that as far as reasonably practicable, all personnel on board and in the vicinity of the ship adhere to the health and safety regulations of the naval base with a safe system of work to implement a safe working environment.•

To maintain, and enhance SHE audit processes, standards, policies and procedures within the framework of current legislation, ISO and Risk Specific according to the work activities within Ship support and Ship build.Responsibilities at BAE Systems SHE Department:• Conducting SHE audits and processes.• Accident and Incident investigation.• Liaison with a diverse range of personnel and management in the resolving of incidents.• Use of OSHENS investigation programme on a daily basis.• Work as directed by SHE Dept. Supervisor in the day to day safety issues within the Naval Base.• Use of the Business Management System (BMS) daily.• Reviewing Process Instructions and liaising with the subject matter experts.• Keeping up to date with the latest legislation, producing reports in a professional and timely manner to SHE Dept. management.• Providing advice to management of the Commercial Dept. in the use of Risk Register ensure its correct and timely completion.• Liaison between the Royal Navy and BAE in resolving SHE matters.• Issue of Prohibition and Improvement notices and guidance to resolve them.• Liaison with Departments providing sound and professional advice on improvements and future product safety.• Working on a refresh project by carrying out contractor SHE assessments and approvals.• Carrying out building area hazard registers and building officer training for all MOD/BAE buildings on site.
