SpaceICE is an upcoming cubesat mission to investigate the effects of microgravity on the freeze-casting process. As the Project Manager for SpaceICE, I am responsible for ensuring that the project is completed in a timely manner without sacrificing the success of the mission. This includes assigning tasks to the members while ensuring that parallel tasks do not interfere with each other, communicating with partner agencies about progress, and keeping the project on schedule.

As the sub-team lead for the Illinois Space Society's RASC-AL team, I was responsible for leading a team to develop the structural design for a human-rated lunar lander. To accomplish this, I oversaw multiple trade studies to determine the best power systems, materials, thermal control systems, landing systems, and overall configuration for the lander. These trade studies used MATLAB code to compare multiple design as a first-order estimate, then I generated ANSYS simulations to confirm the initial design choices and sizing for the various elements. Additionally, I oversaw the creation of the CAD model for the lander. This required communicating with various people to ensure that each component was modeled correctly and then added to the overall assembly in the correct configuration.The position also required constant communication with members of the team outside of the structures sub-team to ensure that the design remained consistent throughout the design process. As the structures sub-team lead, it was very important to know what the other sub-teams needed so the structural design could be designed around these requirements.In the end, I presented the design with other team members at the RASC-AL Forum for many professionals in the aerospace industry.
