• As the design manager for APU water, I oversee six employees capable of delivering capital projects in excess of $120M annually. My responsibilities include the design and construction of wells, pump stations, reservoirs, large mainlines, valves, pressure regulating stations, wellhead treatment systems, conventional water treatment, and SCADA. My most recent projects include a new, citywide ion exchange PFAS treatment system (73MGD), upgrades and improvements to Anaheim’s Lenain surface water treatment plant, and an aggressive increase in the annual replacement of aging water mains and valves. I created an on-call design-build master agreement that is being used to increase my team’s production rate by nearly five times. I have been delegated authority to negotiate on behalf of the City on contracts exceeding $68M. I recently developed contract language to absorb the risk of market inflation on a large project, saving the City $2M. In my 3-years at the City, I have helped reduce the number of water main breaks by initiating new programs that decreased the time of delivery for capital projects and significantly increased the rate of replacement.

As an Engineering Associate, I was in responsible charge of a team of 16 engineers and designers overseeing the delivery of capital projects for numerous public agencies throughout Southern California. My responsibilities included the planning, permitting, design (PS&E), and construction oversight of water, recycled water, storm drain, sewer, grading, paving, and roadway projects. My duties also included storm drain and sewer hydraulic modeling, coordination with regulatory agencies, and public outreach.

As an assistant engineer at IEUA, I oversaw the design and construction of small and medium sized capital projects for sewer, water, recycled water, and storm water. My projects included the widening of a storm water channel and installation of a regional detention basin for flood control, a new 30-acre wetland park, installation of recycled water mains, and incidental improvements at IEUA wastewater plants. As the owner, it was my responsibility to obtain permits from local, state, and federal agencies (i.e. Army Corps, SWRCB, San Bernardino County Flood, CA and US Fish and Wildlife, etc.). I was also responsible for for securing grants and submitting progress reports.
