The program was 2 months long with 6 weeks of it spent on the ice along with 31 other students, 12 staff, and a rotating number of faculty members from a number of institutions world wide. We went to lectures on topics ranging from glaciology, isotopes, climate science, geology of Alaska, and geophysical and remote sensing tools.

StudentInterdisciplinary Field Program Jun 2012 - Aug 2012A student program based out of UGA but available for students and rising freshmen of other universities that provides hands on experience in geology, anthropology, ecology, and other topics in an outdoor field setting. The program lasts 8 weeks and cross America from coast to coast starting in Georgia at Sapelo Island, crossing the west to California, heading up the Pacific coast to Washington, heading east across to Wisconsin, heading down through Wyoming and into Utah before returning to Athens, Georgia. Participants are camping at all times save for the first introductory week on Sapelo Island. Provides students with field experience in multiple disciplines from experienced and dedicated instructors as well as a greater picture of America.
