As a mechanical engineer, I have proven to have the skills and knowledge to succeed in the work force through the successful design of many devices both at the University of Central Florida (UCF), and at my two and a half year internship at MtronPTI.During my Senior Design course at UCF, my team and I designed and manufactured a motorized stage with three axis motion, and sub-micron translational resolution. This stage is currently being used by the UCF Laboratory of Ceramic Materials for Energy Applications to test new materials in order to make more robust Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. I have also designed many fixtures used to more precisely and efficiently manufacture frequency control products while at MtronPTI. Some skills that I have gained include proficiency with Solidworks, performing FEM analysis using NASTRAN, and using LabVIEW in conjunction with measurement devices such as accelerometers, pressure transducers, thermocouples, and strain gauges. My experiences have also taught me to balance many tasks at the same time, and how to prioritize those tasks based on importance with regard to the company’s needs. I’m eager to start my career as a mechanical engineer at a prominent company that can challenge me, and give me a platform to create innovative new products.
