What I love about going to work every day is having a perspective that the industry is a vast puzzle where the picture and the pieces are constantly changing so it is less about perfection and more about optimization.I've worked the past 19 years in the utility space developing teams to focus on two things: 1) giving key analysts a financial analysis toolkit (DCF, NPV, EVA, ROI etc) as well as a industry foundation such as FERC/PSC regulation, ISO/RTO markets and PPA and other contractual agreements so every group & department can have the same financial & utility industry framework; and 2) continue to support the development of new initiatives and capital projects (EV, managed load programs, grid scale & behind the meter storage, bill simulators, data visualization).I strongly believe that the industry is on the verge of disruption and utilities that are prepared for the increased competition by having an agile workforce will survive.
