Having deployed in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in 2018 to Kandahar Airfield as part of the Advance Echelon team, I was able to demonstrate my abilities to operate in austere locations. I was responsible for the initial setup of six maintenance facilities to support the establishment of a fighter wing for current and future operations. Single-handedly acquired materials and resources to build equipment and service stations for aircraft, built and established a hazardous waste containment facility, and managed structure safety and repair. I would go on to work 110 days straight to further assist in the setup of the incoming unit and final pack-up of our own equipment. For these efforts I was graciously awarded Airman of the Month, Diamond Sharp Award, and The Air Force Achievement Medal with C-Device. To be able to accomplish what I did, I was required to draw on every previous experience and situation I had been in to solve complex problems as they arose on a daily basis. I carry this mentatility forward in my job and personal life, always striving for improvement.
