Jacob is known by his friends and colleagues as a competitor. Whether it's sports or working for the family business, he strives to work hard and be a better version of himself every day. Doing things right plays a fundamental role for Jacob in and out of the workplace and no achievement matters more than holding himself to high standards of integrity. As a Type-A individual he is driven to reach his goals and understands the importance of helping those around him achieve their goals as well.Jacob believes every failure is an opportunity to grow and learn from. After practicing hours a day from the time he was 7 years old and fulfilling his dream of being a Division-1 basketball player, Jacob was let go from the team. However, he didn't take this setback as something to get down about but instead worked even harder. After graduating in only 3 years from the University of Denver with a degree in business administration in marketing, Jacob went on to play a season of semi-professional basketball in Sweden. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to learn even more and grow in his faith, he also continued his education in Sweden studying Biblical Theology during his time overseas. Upon returning home to California Jacob began work as a Residential Solar Panel Advisor. He quickly saw an opportunity in the underserved hispanic market and decided to go to Guatemala and learn Spanish in only four months. He led the Spanish speaking sales team when he came back and increased sales by 34%. He is known to be a meticulous hard worker by his coworkers and employers. After working several years in sales Jacob decided to switch things up and began learning to code in computer programs using many freely available resources online such as freeCodeCamp, Harvard's CS50 classes, and countless other tutorials on Youtube. He discovered the world of cybersecurity and was instantly hooked and furthered his education even more through Cal Berkeley's cybersecurity program. His goal is to stop bad guys and protect the world's information all while working from a laptop on the beach. Jacob's interests include exercise, sports, Star Wars, Warrior basketball and the San Francisco Giants. He believes that learning is a lifelong process and is currently trying to pick up on poker and pickle ball.
