Leading a team of seven in conducting operational movement of empty and loaded containers for Fonterra, the world's largest dairy product exporter, during peak we would conduct multi-modal movement of over 330,000 metric tonnes (approx. 16,000 TEU) per month.Within this role I was tasked with:•Analysing Fonterra export forecasts with Fonterra, senior DTL management and transport providers to ensure we had the transport capacity to cater to their demand.•Reviewing project viability with Fonterra Project Managers; working through these projects with supply chain partners to ensure viability and execution. •Developing, reviewing, and implementing systems and processes to improve quality and delivery of service.•Coordinating national equipment supply with shipping lines.•Following up and clearing accounts with supply chain partners.•Conducting and leading team meetings to ensure any issues were aired out and possible solutions were worked through.•Reviewing possible team members CV's and assisting Operations Manager with interviews.•Assisting team members in day to day transport scheduling and execution.•Providing training to existing and new staff.

Managing empty and loaded container movements via road and rail for 17 Fonterra Distribution Centers in the central Waikato and Bay of Plently. Including Fonterra Crawford St, a site which distributes over 33,000 containers (both chilled and ambient) annually. Within this role I was tasked with;•Creating rail and road bookings, scheduling these to ensure containers arrive on site in time for export packing and are delivered back to port in time to meet port cut off’s. •Planning & scheduling these bookings improve operational efficiency and ensure maximum resource utilisation.•Coordinating domestic moves; organising the relevant multi-modal transport at both the sending and delivery locations, booking coastal vessels and completing the relevant shipping documents.•Establishing, maintaining and developing relationships with logistics partners and customers.•Coordinating empty container supply with shipping companies.•Flexing transport bookings that were made in order to allow other supply chain partners to provide services when they were dealing with non-BAU events.•Working alongside Fonterra to ensure any high priority orders could make it to their destination. Including urgent trucking or coordinating redirection of freight on rail.

•Daily stock ordering from manufacturers to maintain correct stock levels, this included both local and overseas suppliers.•Establishing, maintaining and developing relationships with suppliers.•Analysing weekly reports (including sales forecasts) to ensure accurate ordering of stock and turnover of inventory.•Dealing with invoices from local suppliers, overseas suppliers and freight forwarders for international freight. Handling any queries that were related to these and ensuring all costs incurred were accurate.•Liaising with warehouse staff to ensure goods received, were what was ordered, and these were received in good condition. Organising returns or replacements where necessary for damaged or unwanted stock.•Following up with courier companies regarding delivery times, customer complaints and damages.•Liaising with service technicians in the field to ensure appropriate numbers of parts were held in the warehouse.
