Directly manage 25 employees through effective application of time proven leadership practices and mentorship strategies. Design, implement, and monitor leadership initiatives aimed at improving overall performance and mission accomplishment. Began serving on the State Strategic Leadership Council in 2014 by initially working to develop strategies to measure the current leadership climate and codify initial goals for the strategic direction of the new program. Responsible for mission accomplishment and planning for a unit which is on call 24/7 in order to respond to possible Weapons of Mass Destruction events. Regularly interfaced with Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Homeland Security, First Responders, Community Partners, and others with the goal of seamless integration if needed. • Developed and executed operational and training plans for a Weapons of Mass Destruction team ensuring the unit was mission ready 24/7.• Conducted surveys, interviews, and focus groups as well as consultation with senior leadership to develop and implement organizational improvement strategies and talent management initiatives.• Regularly performed briefings before large audiences while on the scene of emergencies, in classrooms, and virtually in order to facilitate coordination and maximum use of various technical capabilities.• Certified Army Instructor, regularly taught courses on leadership at the Officer Candidate School.• Achieved perfect performance ratings and various accolades in the course of five national level mission performance evaluations over eight years.• Developed leadership initiatives to improve and mentor employees with specialties in training, operations, communications, logistics, and personnel services.
