I graduated from Sonoma State University in 2019 with two Bachelors of Arts in Sociology as well as Criminology and Criminal Justice. In May of 2022, I completed my legal studies at McGeorge School of Law and received my JD. Currently, I work as an Assistant Public Defender in Sacramento County advocating for what is fair and just. My passion is for the humanization of the justice-involved through criminal justice reform. By way of eliminating collateral consequences, decriminalizing drug use and possession, enhancing mental health literacy, among other needed reforms, we can work to end the oppressive system of mass incarceration. I believe that through rehabilitation, compassion, forgiveness, and community-based care, we can achieve this end. As of December of 2022, I became a licensed member of the California State Bar. And it is my privilege to use my legal education and experience to pursue these goals and help provide a voice to those disproportionately and overwhelmingly disenfranchised.
