As a Tiromat Operator, I was responsible for operating and maintaining my assigned packaging machine. This includes regular checks to ensure a proper seal on packages, correct and clearly legible date coding and placement, and verifying that packages have been properly vacuum sealed. I also closely monitor the machine to detect any problems and alert maintenance personnel of machine malfunction. I was also responsible for making sure the correct packaging materials were being used for the current work order, and checking the packaging materials for correct allergen statements as well as identifying misprinted films and labels. I also conducted hourly Critical Control Point checks, such as calibrating metal detectors, and checking package seals in accordance with HACCP standards. I was also required to conduct changeovers, and make adjustments to the machine such as moving cutting blades, adjusting date coder position, adjusting photo sensors to ensure top and bottom films are aligned, and swapping parts in the product transfer system.I also covered filler positions as needed, such as line packaging, inline sorting of packages onto conveyors, boxing/palletizing finished product, and unboxing/intake of incoming pallets.I was also responsible for making sure my work area and machine was kept clean and sanitary, as well as completely disassembling and cleaning the equipment during a scheduled clean, using industrial cleaning chemicals and wearing appropriate PPE for the operation required.I operated a variety of thermoforming packaging machines, including specially equipped Tiromat 3000 machines, a Multivac R350, and two Toyo Jidoki TVP-E4 rotary pouch filler machines.
