As a squad leader I was responsible for the training of 9 soldiers in all of their infantry tasks as well as ensuring that all of the equipment was maintained. I joined the Army in 2002, attended Infantry training in Ft. Benning, Georgia and was then stationed in Ft. Wainwright, Alaska where I served in C co. 1-17 Infantry Regiment for a little over five years. During this time I served as a team member, a team leader, a stryker vehicle commander, and as a squad leader. 16 months of this time was spent in Mosul.
