I am drawn to the power of data. It is and will continue to shape business and the world, and that is why I want to become a data scientist. I've developed a solid foundation in system based, data-oriented problem solving through my Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and I have applied those skills both academically and professionally via two internships in the Product Operations department at Akamai Technologies as an Operations Analyst and Data Scientist. I'm currently pursuing my Master of Science in Business Analytics at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin to gain expertise in machine learning / data modeling techniques and to sharpen my business acumen. I initially discovered the world of data analysis through sports analytics, specifically the movie/book Moneyball, but realized consumer technology and eCommerce hold more potential to positively impact many people around the world. These are the fields I hope to break into.
