Born in New Jersey, Jacob Pier relocated to Pennsylvania with his family in 1988. Jacob is twenty three year’s old living in Mechanicsburg, PA. He was a leader for Cumberland Valley Ice Hockey Club leading his team to the championship of his league (Central Pennsylvania Hockey League CPIHL). His love of ice hockey has not abated and he is still playing adult hockey in the CPIHL PRO-AM league.Now attending HACC Harrisburg Area Community College, he started off as a Culinary Arts major because of his love for cooking. After almost achieving a Culinary Arts degree, he realized that he no longer had the same passion and desire to create dishes as he did in high school. Jacob had always had artistic skills in drawing and information technology.He found himself combining his love of drawing with the new technology and software available on the computer. He found a new passion and a desire to create designs and art in the digital format and started to strive forward towards a new goal in the Web Design Field. He was able to incorporate various software techniques such as Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator which he had self taught himself. He was able to translate these skills into his course study in Web Design at HACC Harrisburg Area Community College. Through the course of his studies he has been able to improve his skills and abilities and also has made dean’s list at HACC several times and currently has a 3.25 in Web Design. His abilities have been recognize by his instructors who have encouraged him to participate in International competition. He is also very active in mentoring other Web Design students at HACC. Jacob is now a newly empowered web designer looking to make a name for him.
